Maynooth Alumni Mentoring Programme
Launched at the end of 2020, the inaugural Maynooth Alumni Mentoring programme paired 20 alumni mentors with current Maynooth students (mentees) to help prepare them for work, life and engaged citizenship. Country borders, distance and a pandemic presented no problems for the participants as they connected 1:1 digitally over four months.
Culminating in May 2021 with an online celebratory event, the programme was a resounding success for all involved. “Rewarding” and “Learned so much about myself” were just some of the feedback the Mentoring Team received.
As a result, applications opened in July for the 2021-22 academic year. Our aim for this second year of the mentoring programme is for a three-fold increase in the number of mentees and mentors.
