Students' Union

Hi! My name is Carrie O’Neill and I am the Maynooth Students’ Union (MSU) Taught Postgraduate Officer for the 2023/24 academic year. As the Taught Postgraduate Officer, I am responsible for ensuring that the postgraduate members of the Union are being supported. I address any issues relating to the welfare and the student experience of taught postgraduate students in Maynooth.

I am from a small village in County Kildare. I am a full-time Master of Science student here at Maynooth studying Digital Marketing in the School of Business.

Life at Maynooth University is vibrant, filled with an incredible community, active student life and two beautiful campuses.

I wish all current and prospective taught postgraduate students to enjoy your journey pursuing your postgraduate degree, and feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or just want a chat postgradrep@msu.ie.

My name is Sian Cowman and I'm the Maynooth Students' Union (MSU) Doctoral Postgraduate Representative. I'm in the second year of my PhD research in the Department of Media Studies.

My role is to deal with issues relating to the education, welfare and student experience of doctoral postgraduate members of the Union. I also represent students on various university committees, and where possible, I raise issues affecting PhD researchers around the differing stipend rates, specific issues affecting non-EU PhD researchers, equality of pay for tutoring and teaching, and access to rights such as sick leave and parental leave.

You can contact me on doctoralrep@msu.ie.

Please visit www.msu.ie if you would like more information on Maynooth Students’ Union.
