In May 2022, we were delighted to welcome mentors and mentees to the University for an event to celebrate the successful completion of the second year of the Maynooth Alumni Mentoring Programme.
Opening the event, Vice-President of External Affairs, Rebecca Doolin, and Professor Alison Hood, Dean of Teaching and Learning, welcomed alumni, students, and MU Heads of Departments for an enjoyable evening with refreshments in Iontas. Paying tribute to the support alumni provided and acknowledging the hard work of MU students who stepped forward to participate in this initiative, alumni and students were presented with gifts to mark the occasion and encouraged to stay in touch afterwards.
Now in its third year, this programme provides a superb opportunity for alumni to make a difference in a student’s future by helping them understand their academic and career opportunities and giving them ‘real-world’ insights into the world of work. The goal of the mentoring programme is to give both mentors and mentees the chance to help one another enhance their professional development and to help MU students enhance their employability skills and get equipped for work, life and engaged citizenship. We would like to thank and acknowledge all alumni who volunteered for this programme. It wouldn’t be the same without you. Grá mór.
