Globally connected, Internationally recognised
Maynooth University is a globally connected university. One third of our staff come from abroad and we have partnerships with almost 200 universities worldwide. Maynooth University was ranked 85th overall and first in Ireland in the Times Higher Education (THE) Ranking for Young Universities 2023. Additionally, Maynooth University was ranked first in Ireland and top 5% globally in the THE Global Impact Rankings (2021) for SDG10 Reducing Inequalities and second in Ireland and 60th globally for SDG5 Gender Equality. Maynooth University is joint first in Ireland and top 200 globally for SDG4 Quality Education. Maynooth University has an International Engineering College, which is a joint international partnership with Fuzhou University (FZU), located on Fuzhou University campus in Fuzhou, Fujian province in China.
Teaching, Research & Innovation are Interconnected
Many of our leading researchers are also committed teachers. We offer an inclusive and diverse learning community. We continue to invest in world-class teaching and learning facilities e.g. in 2022 a new €48M high tech Technology, Society and Innovation (TSI) building opened. In 2019 our new €14.1 million School of Education building opened.
Career Prospects and Development
Our Careers and Employability Service offers a range of resources to help students in making key decisions about their career path and support them in their job search. The service offers individual sessions with a careers advisor and seminars during the year with career options, CV feedback and interview preparation for the optimal preliminary for the job market. It organises recruitment events with employers on campus and lists available jobs, giving students the best chance of employment.
The university helps to prepare students also the practical skills for their chosen subject and for the workforce in general. The Graduate Outcome Survey 2023 showed that 92.9% of graduates are employed or engaged in further study or training. As evidence of the great results of the university sees, there are two former Nobel Peace Prize winners from the university's alumni and staff.

Modern campus meets history
In 2022, Maynooth University celebrated its 25th birthday, having been formally established as an autonomous university in 1997. Yet, it traces its origins to the foundation of the Royal College of St. Patrick in 1795, and draws inspiration from a heritage that spans over 200 years of education.

Active campus
We have over 100 sports and non-sports clubs and societies at Maynooth University. Additionally there is a wide range of sport facilities free of charge for students' use.

Students Union
Maynooth Students' Union (MSU) is a representative body for students. Maynooth Students' Union has its own building on North campus, with a restaurant and space for students to hang out and meet their friends. They organise activities by students for the students.
Active Research
Research at Maynooth University spans the disciplines across the Sciences, the Social Sciences and the Arts. Our scale allows us to work across traditional boundaries to focus on the major societal challenges of the 21st century. More than 1,100 students and staff are active in research.

Maynooth University was ranked # 1 in Ireland in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Best Young University Rankings in 2023.
Maynooth University received a 90% satisfaction score in Learning from students in the International Student Barometer 2023.

Student Services
The university has a Student Services Centre, which includes a health centre, with free medical advice and appointments, a free counselling service, budgeting advice and chaplaincy.
A Writing Support Centre and Mathematics Support Centre provide easily accessible academic support to students.
